YSPOR can help support your community health and wellness needs in a variety of ways, from co-developing a health research project to providing training and tools and investing in your community through youth scholarships. Contact YSPOR to find your pathway!
An example of a community project co-developed with YSPOR is the project “In Their Words: COVID-19 Experiences of the Vuntut Gwitchin People of Old Crow.” This project was facilitated through partnership with Vuntut Gwitchin Government (VGG). Elders, knowledge keepers, VGG administration, and the community at large provided direction for the project to improve research outcomes and quality of data, and to ensure relevance and cultural safety. Additionally, the data collected adhered to the principles of data sovereignty (see OCAP) , with VGG using the results of this study to assist in making decisions, based on evidence, to support the health and wellness of their citizens. For more information about this project please visit its research page.
Relevant funding opportunities include grants to support Indigenous or community health initiatives and to help organizations and communities build health research and program capacity. For more information, please contact YSPOR or visit YSPOR funding opportunities.
